What happens if your agent goes quiet

Going quiet is the most common failure in this business and the least dramatic. Nobody does anything wrong on a given day. The calls just get slower, and two weeks later you are the one chasing.

The limits of what we can do

CloseCenter is a referral service, not a brokerage. We do not supervise the agent, we cannot discipline them, and we cannot terminate a listing agreement you signed with their brokerage. What we control is the referral, our access to that agent for future sellers, and whether we stay on your file. Anyone who promises more than that is describing authority they do not have.

If you have already signed a listing agreement, ending it is a conversation with the brokerage, not with us. Most brokerages will release a listing when a seller asks and the relationship has broken down, but that is their call and the terms are in the paperwork you signed.

What counts as a slip

  • No call within 4 hours on the first contact, same business day.
  • No 30-day review, or a review with no numbers in it.
  • Repeated non-response during an active deadline: an offer window, an inspection response period, an appraisal issue.
  • You are being handed to an assistant you were never introduced to, on questions the agent should answer.

How to escalate

Call or text 865.256.9362, or email support@closecenter.com, and say what did not happen and when. Dates and times help more than adjectives. One person at CloseCenter owns your file from the first call through closing, so you are not explaining the history to a queue.

We contact the agent first, because the most common cause is a fixable one. If it is not fixable, we route the referral to a different full-time agent in your area, and we tell you that we did it rather than quietly swapping names.

Why coverage is not exclusive

We do not sell zip codes and no agent has a territory with us. That is what makes reassignment possible at all. An agent who owns your area by contract has no reason to answer faster than the minimum. An agent who can lose the next referral does.

The same fact protects you before anything goes wrong. You are not obligated to use the agent we send, there is nothing to cancel, and if the fit is wrong on the first call, saying so costs you nothing.
